Diamond Honing Spray
Our diamond honing sprays provide a precise and efficient way to refine and polish cutting edges. Each spray contains diamond particles of varying sizes, designed for different levels of sharpening and finishing.
Available Sprays:
Blue Spray (6 Micron)
Contains 6-micron diamond particles, equivalent to FEPA P3000–P4000 or JIS J2000–J3000 grit.
Ideal for refining coarser working edges after P400 or P600 grit.
Serves as an intermediate step before achieving a mirror-polished edge, recommended after P2000 or J1500 stones.
Green Spray (3 Micron)
Contains 3-micron diamond particles, equivalent to JIS J4000 grit.
Suitable for finer working edges, starting from J700–J1000 (P800–P1000).
Works well as a final step after J2000 stones or after the 6-micron spray.
Can also be used for everyday edge maintenance between sharpenings.
Lemon Yellow Spray (1 Micron)
Contains 1-micron diamond particles, slightly finer than JIS J8000 grit.
Recommended for achieving a mirror-polished edge after using the 3-micron spray.
Ideal for maintenance polishing of already polished edges.
Orange Spray (0.5 Micron)
Contains 0.5-micron diamond particles, approximately JIS J15000 grit.
Best used as the final finishing step after the 3-micron or 1-micron spray.
Produces an exceptionally refined, mirror-like edge.
(every bottle contains around 1 gramm of diamonds
How to Use:
1. Shake Well – Hold the bottle upside down and shake thoroughly until the diamond particles are fully mixed into the suspension, creating a uniform pastel-colored liquid.
2. Apply the Spray – Spray 3–5 times from a distance of 5–10 cm onto the leather strop, ensuring even coverage.
3. Let It Dry – Allow the spray to dry for 10–15 minutes before use.
4. Honing Process –
If you sharpened your blade beforehand, wipe or rinse it thoroughly to prevent contamination with coarser particles.
When switching to a finer grit, always clean the leather to avoid cross-contamination.
Lay the blade flat on the leather and pull it away from the edge with light to medium pressure, ensuring full contact along the edge.
Alternate sides at least every 5 strokes.
5. Reapply as Needed –
Reapply the spray on every 10–20 occasion, or when the leather surface starts to develop a metallic sheen.
The diamond particles wear down very slowly, but accumulated metal debris can reduce effectiveness. In such cases, simply reapply a fresh layer.
